SNAP 10 mission log # Temporary manual log because website down at times # ESDU ##### 14/04/18 09:30, d.1100: Issues with the website this morning due to I think problems with the SAMS network or some servers. Current situation: Website: - No Google map displayed on interface - No plots visible (for any dives throughout the mission) - Website completely down at times Vocal: - Up and running - Jura has been calling in fine - Connection lost to /mnt (Salty) drive (used for transferring files to Vogon) Vogon: - Up and running - Matlab still running - Connection lost to Salty (used for transferring files to Vogon) - Last dive processed = 1092 (around 02:45 UTC). Nothing processed since then because no new data found, probably because of the lost connection to Salty. Jura: Did some basic checks on the basestation, she seems fine. Altimeter working and no errors (apart from the regular GPS timeouts). Eng readings look fine as well. So she seems ok, just flying blind at the moment! Emailed IT this morning. ##### Flying blind at the moment, I don't want to attempt going through the channel south of Barra without seeing where I'm going. Plus Jura will take ~6 days to get to PICKUP point, i.e. getting there probably next week-end. Not ideal time for pickup, so stall her a bit and make her wait in the shelf for a few days (safer to make her wait on the open shelf rather than close to the islands in-between the ferry lines). Set up waypoint SHELF_TEMP and do virtual mooring. targets: SHELF_TEMP lat=5630.0 lon=-0835.0 radius=3000 goto=SHELF_TEMP BARRA_S lat=5625.0 lon=-0746.0 radius=3000 goto=PICKUP PICKUP lat=5646.0 lon=-00653.0 radius=2000 goto=PICKUP cmdfile: $HEADING,-1 pdoscmds.bat: target SHELF_TEMP ##### Note: map on glider page not displaying probably because of link to extra layers located on another network drive, but the map on the mission page seems to work: http://vocal.sams.ac.uk/glider/mission.php?missionid=33 ##### 15/04/18 11:24, d. 1132: Jura has now reached the temporary virtual mooring. Plots and maps still not working, and website down at times. Vocal still fine, no missed calls and can be accessed normally. Check using checkup tool: Altimeter working fine, detecting from 40 - 50m away No unusual errors (just GPS timeouts and a few spurious interrupts) Humidity ~40% Internal pressure: 8.48 to 8.53 psia Small pack voltage: 12.6 to 13.2V Large pack voltage: ~12.6V Battery level: 67.3% No calls missed, usually all the data transmitted in 1 call, occasionally 2 (or 3 once) GPS ok No bottom hits Looks all good. Hard to check data without plots, had a look at a few .pro files, data is recorded and values are looking similar. #####
